Jamie’s martial arts journey began with a passion for competition and discipline. A lifelong athlete, he wrestled through school before joining the military in 1998, where he was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. What started as a dream to fight grew into a calling to teach, as others sought his guidance and leadership. Today, as a 3rd degree black belt and coach, Jamie’s mission is to create well-rounded black belts in a safe, sustainable training environment. At Athlon, martial arts is more than sport—it’s a lifestyle where every student is challenged to grow and reach their highest potential.

Robert Brice, originally from Buffalo, New York, is a United States Navy veteran who has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2006. He earned his black belt in 2018 under Athlon’s head instructor and owner, 3rd degree black belt Jamie Miller. In addition to teaching at Athlon, Robert is an active IBJJF competitor and medalist. Off the mats, he’s a proud Garth Brooks fan and, surprisingly, has never watched Breaking Bad.

Ernest brings over 18 years of martial arts and fitness experience to Athlon as a Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals and MMA coach. A former professional MMA fighter and amateur featherweight champion, he’s competed on some of the sport’s biggest stages, including Legacy, Fury, and Bellator. Having trained under head coach Jamie from the very beginning, Ernest combines technical knowledge with the mindset of a seasoned competitor. He’s also guided countless fighters from the corner, offering calm and strategic direction in both amateur and professional bouts. Beyond the mats, Ernest values time with his wife and kids, and enjoys the outdoors and fishing.

Originally from Highland, Michigan, Jimmy began wrestling in middle school, which sparked his love for grappling and strength training. With a degree in Exercise Science and years of experience as a coach, trainer, and national-level powerlifter, Jimmy has dedicated his career to helping others reach their goals. After moving to San Antonio, he returned to Jiu-Jitsu and connected with Jamie and the Athlon team. Now, as Athlon’s strength coach, Jimmy is passionate about helping athletes of all levels build resilience, achieve their goals, and perform at their best.

Katelyn is a proud mom and wife who owns and operates her own media business, with a special love for capturing the energy and emotion of sports. Introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2023 when her husband began training under Jamie Miller, she soon took on the role of Athlon’s gym and social media manager. A lifelong athlete in basketball, softball, and volleyball, she found in Jiu-Jitsu a new challenge that taught patience, perseverance, and growth. Outside the gym, Katelyn enjoys running with her husband and daughter, and is currently training for her first half marathon.
